Nursing has also been 1000x easier with Jonathan, and so has infant care in general because this time we have a semblance of what on earth we're supposed to do.
Emma is adjusting as well as a 27 mos. old can be expected to, and for the most part our intervening in her behavior has been to protect Jonathan from a bit too much love from her. She definitely was uncertain for a bit, and I know we're only a little bit in and could hit more behavioral road bumps, but we're grateful for what it's been so far.
Dan and I were so grateful to have Aunt Kiki here until Saturday morning and then we were on our own until today because Nana Anne arrived last night after bedtime. Emma has been in heaven all morning with Nana Anne bearing all kinds of gifts and having boundless energy to play. This was a huge relief for us so we could sleep in a bit, and at least one of us get a break. That's one thing about having 2 kids- both of you are generally occupied with a child at all times! But we are blessed to be so!
Jonathan's first outing at 6 days old. He went to the chiropractor with Mommy for an adjustment (don't worry- the chiropractor doesn't crack him!).
Jonathan is now 9 days old and packing on the ounces. He was 6 lb. 14 oz. at birth, 6 lb. 8 oz. two days later, then 4 days after that already up to 7 lb. 2 oz. in his birthday suit! Yesterday he weighed 7 lb. 6 oz. at the pediatrician, who himself was quite impressed at Jonathan's weight gain. This boy can eat! And sleep!
